St Rita of Cascia Novena
St Rita of Cascia was a wife and mother, then after her husband was killed, a nun. Pray this novena for impossible causes, marital problems, and abuse.
Saint Rita is the patron saint of impossible causes, sickness, wounds, marital problems, abuse, and mothers. At her canonization ceremony, she was bestowed the title of Patroness for impossible causes, whereas in many Catholic countries, Rita came to be known as the Patroness of heartbroken women, specifically for sterility, abuse victims, loneliness, marriage difficulties, parenthood, widows, and bodily ills.
About St. Rita
Saint Rita of Cascia was born in Italy. She wanted to be a nun but she was encouraged to marry at a young age. She had two sons and her husband was killed in a fight. After her husband and her sons unfortunately died she tried to become a nun but she was turned away at first because she was a widow. However, after some time they allowed her to join.
She was a very holy person and was very prayerful and giving. She received a partial stigmata while praying in front of the cross with a wound on her forehead as if from a thorn of Jesus’ crown of thorns.
St. Rita is the Patron Saint of difficult marriages, impossible causes, infertility, marital problems and parenthood. Her Feast Day is May 22nd.
