It came by faith as people publicly aligned themselves with Jesus. As He told the woman with a discharge of blood, “Your faith has made you well” ( Matthew 9:22 ).
The answer comes from Jesus: she was healed not because Jesus wanted to heal her or because she was the only one who needed healing, but rather because she had faith.
The Bible describes the story of Jesus Christ healing a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. The woman had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” Immediately her bleeding stopped, and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.
