"Authorisation via Local Whitelist" operating mode for MENNEKES Professional charging stations

· 17.01.2023 · 12:52:00 ··· ··· Tuesday ·· 2 (2) MENNEKES Elektrotechnik GmbH & Co. KG
In this MENNEKES video, you learn how to set the operating mode "Authorisation via Local Whitelist" on the MENNEKES AMTRON® Professional wallbox and AMEDIO® Professional charging column, and how to add the RFID cards. The prerequisite for setting the operating mode "Authorisation via Local Whitelist" and adding the RFID cards is the installation of the charging system, a laptop with administration rights and a USB or Ethernet cable. WLAN is not included in the Professional charging systems.

The RFID card numbers of up to 100 users can be stored in a database or whitelist via the controller in the charging system. This allows the corresponding charging system to be used as a stand-alone system. Through the master RFID card, the charging station operator is authorised to add new RFID cards to this list and to define and also extend the user group as required. Users are authorised by using their RFID card, simply by holding it in front of the wallbox reader.

The operating mode "Authorisation via Local Whitelist" is used to prevent the unauthorised activation of a charging process. Charging only begins if the user holds an RFID card that has been added to the local whitelist in front of the RFID symbol on the charging system, the vehicle is connected to the charging system and switches to the status "C" – i.e. ready to charge. The active charging process can be terminated via the connected vehicle simply by disconnecting the charging plug or by re-presenting the card.

To configure, connect your laptop to the charging system and open the web interface. For the operating mode "Authorisation via Local Whitelist", the parameter "Connection Type" must be set to "No Backend" and then saved. In the menu tab "Authorisation", set the parameters "Free Charging" and "If in Doubt, Allow Charging" to "Off". Now scroll to the parameter "Activate Local Whitelist" and set this to "On".

One option is to now enter the user IDs manually in a corresponding field or to copy and paste them from a file or an already configured charging system. If you don't know the user IDs of the RFID cards and have no way of reading them, you can use the learning mode. Set the parameter "Local Whitelist Learning Mode" to "On" and save these settings. Now hold the RFID cards in front of the RFID symbol on the charging system within five minutes. Activate the newly set operating mode by restarting the charging system.
