Chelsea have reportedly spoken to Sporting Lisbon's Ruben Amorim about the vacant manager position at Stamford Bridge next season. The Blues are looking for their next permanent manager. Frank Lampard, meanwhile, served as watchdog until the end of the campaign. Chelsea are now in talks with Ruben Amorim, according to The Guardian. The 38-year-old manager appears to be on the coaches list and therefore in discussions about a possible transfer to West London. The report explains that with Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique selected as the first candidates, there is yet no indication that it is the preferred choice. As for Amorim, he will need to convince during negotiations that Chelsea will be the right step towards his managerial career. Amorim is now a very interesting candidate for the Chelsea job. Despite being in his late thirties, he is already a league-winning manager after leading Sporting to the Liga Nos title in 2021. His side has drawn attention in European football this season. They are currently battling Juventus in the Europa League quarter-finals and beating Arsenal on their way to the last eight. Amorim's preferred 3-4-3 system works successfully in Lisbon. It's interesting to note that the line-up could really fit in with the current Chelsea group of players at Bridge as well. Mikel Arteta, whose Arsenal team has been at top of the Premier League this season, has previously written poems about Amorim. The Arsenal manager has admitted to being a big fan of his counter number after facing Sporting in Europe earlier this year. As quoted by Arteta, Football London “I really like him . It's incredible what he and his coaching team have done over the past few years. They're a really good team, so thank you to the manager because you can see that they have a really clear idea."
