✨ INFO:
defying the odds at the USA Rollersports Southwest Regional Championship 🛼✨ after training relentlessly this full season for regionals, i sprained my ankle 2 days before my first competition event. it happened so suddenly, and right after i finally was ready & prepared for my events. i felt utterly defeated, and didn’t know what to do. I thought i would have to scratch and my dream of making it to USA Nationals would be gone.
however, i’ve never been a quitter, and i knew i couldn’t let adversity define me. i had come too far, sacrificed too much, to let a sprained ankle literally shatter my dreams. I decided to do everything i can to heal my ankle - i spend my days doing RICE, acupuncture, finding a last minute PT appointment, all to be able to at least compete at one of my events. with willpower and the support of my incredible coach, friends, and family, i made the decision to push through the pain and give it my all. 💖
I competed in the open b creative solo event with 14 other girls. i don’t know how, but somehow i managed to skate my program and end up 3rd place 🥉 i was this close to giving up, and competing at all, but instead i won my first Regionals medal and I qualified to go to Nationals. what an adventure, but here’s to pushing through the hard times, even with a sprained ankle! 🤍
