AFP News Agency Palestinians perform Friday noon prayers on the last day of the Eid al-Fitr holiday marking the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, near a tent serving as a makeshift mosque in southern Gaza's Rafah. Regional tensions have been stoked by the Gaza war which began after Hamas's unprecedented October 7 attack against Israel left 1,170 people dead, mostly civilians, according to Israeli figures. Israel's retaliatory offensive has killed at least 33,545 people in Gaza, mostly women and children, according to the Hamas-run territory's health ministry.
