Rock Band 4(v1) - Pro Drums Full Game FC

the year is 2024, and Rock Band 4 content is trendy again (the game died lol)

You're probably asking yourself "why?" very simply put, I felt I needed to do this as a proper send off for everyone's favorite rhythm game of all time. That, and since it's nerf I've been wanting to reattempt a FGFC playing on the original engine. How am I doing this? Well, that's actually the really straight forward part. If you own the 2015 issue of the game, you can simply uninstall the game and put your console offline. When you go to boot the game, it'll launch in its day one edition... Yes... no practice mode, no variable breakneck speed, no detailed stats, and the fun part; the original drum engine. Which I can confidently say this isn't nearly as bad I as remember, and I thoroughly owe that to the fact I am playing on a comprehendible calibration in lieu of what I had back in the day.

Now, if you'd like to try this yourself, there is ONE other problem you may face. How do you connect your drum set? Remember, this is 2015. There IS no updates for the PDP wired adapter. Need I remind anyone, if you owned an Xbox One and played this game on launch your options were: Rock Band 4 Madcatz Stock kit, and the Madcatz wireless adapter. Limiting your "Pro-enabled" drum choices being JUST stock hardware (unless you gutted it but, that's a completely different can of worms). So, let this be a massive love letter to the genius mind behind the Roll Limitless adapter, @bookreader52 In spring last year he reached out suggesting he may have resolved some issues over on the Xbox 360, and offered to send me an adapter to test it. Low and behold after some tinkering, it works perfectly. So, it had me thinking, I could NOW try this borderline masochistic challenge on the Xbox One. To finally see through something that I gave up on several years back.

Now that's enough yapping, all in all, this was a fun challenge. If you're curious on stats (and have read this far lol) it took roughly 24 hours to FGFC, over the span of 6 days. 8 hours to get through the initial 60 songs, 6 hours on Dream Genie... and an allotment of time for Metropolis I do not wanna talk about, ever. I swear, If I have to hear that song again I will do unspeakable things. FGFC timeline: 02/09/24 - 02/15/24

Dead Black (Heart Of Ice) - 0:00
My first run of this I managed to FC up to the outro kicks (7: 23) I proceeded to donk them entirely as I could not remember AT ALL their speed in relation to the song. Overall, this was quite trivial.

Metropolis pt.1 - 8:09
To think back to 2015, I was BEYOND ecstatic to have more Dream Theatre in Rock Band. I genuinely recall this being a hard but, incredibly fun grind back then. Fast forward to now, I am a prog hater and the years of agony of this band being a mainstay in the customs streams were just god awful. My PTSD had essentially caught up to me, and anytime I had to restart this song (a lot) I felt the essence of my life sapping away. At least a DOZEN chokes on the hi hat rolls (16: 14) and even ONE right after (16: 32) due to nerves.

Dream Genie - 17:56
What else can I say? I was practically BEGGING for this song during the Metropolis grinds. Once the moment rolled around, I felt like a weight had been lifted. No surprise, this took a bit of time. The biggest issue was during the engine switch, I learnt very quickly that you can left lead all the fills (no crossovers) for practicality. This, was a massive undertaking to unlearn this habit, as that did NOT work whatsoever in this version of the game. I was VERY happy to learn my original sticking for Jam A & B actually still work on this engine, (thank god) because learning that with right hand on yellow (left hand cross overs) sounded yucky. Once I had a good handle on which fills were where, runs started off pretty good. Then the inevitable "first choke" happening in (23: 46) had me upset but, I knew it was bound to happen. What I DIDN'T expect was the mental block coming at Jam B. The green tom (21: 49) killed close to 15 runs, and I was beginning to lose it. Since there's no practice mode, I simply could not CHECK to see what I was doing wrong. My frustration was at an all time high during this, but, patience prevailed. The first run I got past Jam B in a while, resulted in a FC.

I didn't really know how to structure this video, as I had a handful of different ideas but decided to go this route in the end. I wanna give a shoutout towards @smarockRB I feel inclined as this is similar to his from some years back.

As of this video releasing, I have completed a few other FGFCs which you can find here: https://bit.ly/RB-GH-FSFGFC
