In Florida we had tropical systems blow through and they were certainly nasty. They were RARE though. In the mountains, though, we find the storms much more common. Florida was pretty steady. Afternoon thunderstorms, Sunny days. In the mountains, it’s a place of extremes. Below 10 degrees in the Winter (Mom not happy with that) and the high 90s in the Summer. Sometimes we go for a month with no rain and the Sun just decimating anything that is not draught resistant, pulling water from deep underground. But then there are the storms. It does not just drizzle here. Someone up there dumps a BUCKET over and an inch of rain comes in mere minutes. The problem with this is it overwhelms drainage systems which take time to keep up with water. Anyhow, Papa was out on the patio with the pups (Mom was off buying fireworks) when this little storm blew through. Nasty nasty wind and a LOT of water.
How do your dogs handle the storms? Ours do OK but are not real fond of them.
