Here is what happened. First period the match gets stopped because the boy bit Regan on the arm. There was a big red mark on her forearm and keep in mind this same boy has bitten Regan before in the Wrestling Room. So we knew going into the match there could be some shenanigans. So 6 minutes of waiting for the Ref to get the head ref to investigate he said there were no teeth marks and the red mark, now faded, wasn't enough for action. In the 3rd period, and Regan is getting beat at this point, make no mistake about it, they collided heads pretty hard and the ref blew the whistle and the boy kept wrestling, Regan was on her back and the boy kept wrestling her trying to pin her as the Ref is blowing the whistle again trying to stop him from wrestling and Regan was defending herself and pushed him in the face to get off, so the Ref DQ'd Regan saying she was punching him. He says to me I was getting ready to hit the other wrestler with a misconduct for not stopping but then your daughter punched him in the face. I said that's bullshit and he kicked me out of the tournament to for saying "bullshit". In situations like this it does make you question some Ref's agenda. She was likely going to lose the match, ok, can't win them all, that's not the point here. But what appeared to be bias or just such a 100% wrong call, it just was so bad. You're telling me that a girl on her back being attacked by a boy wrestler who won't stop on the whistle attempts by the ref defends herself and you DQ the girl and do nothing to the boy? Wow. Ok, yeah, find some soft reason to kick me out too, why not. Maybe that guy woke up on the wrong side of the bed or something? IDK. This isn't the first time that we have had to deal with some lopsided reffing. When girls wrestle boys, some people don't like that and some refs feel that way too. I have watched the video 4 times now and I don't see any punches, I see her pushing him away as the ref is blowing the whistle and reaching for him to stop wrestling. And look, as much as we wrestle, year round, it's inevitable, we are going to see bad calls here and there, it's just part of the sport. Refs make mistakes just like coaches do and just like wrestlers do. No one is perfect. I wasn't going to post anything about this but the number of people who have reached out to me and said they didn't see anything wrong and don't understand why Regan was DQ'd, I felt compelled to tell the story of what happened.
