The Herrnbräu brewery in Ingolstadt, founded in the 17th century, has a rich history in the birthplace of the German Purity Law. Initially part of one of the first joint-stock companies in Germany, it has been selling beers under the brand name "Herrnbräu" since the 1960s. Their product range includes various lagers such as pale lager, Pilsner, dark lager, Kellerbier, a Christmas 'Bockbier,' and several wheat ale varieties. In celebration of the famous German Purity Law proclaimed in Ingolstadt in 1516, Herrnbräu annually brews a special German-Style Festbier called 'Tradition' on its anniversary, characterized by a golden color, delicately sweet taste, subtle hop bitterness, and an elegant, noble, and aromatic profile.
