Little Becomes Much When You Pui It In The Hands Of Jesus
In going back to Jesus feeding the multitudes with the lunch that a little boy donated, there are a few more truths in this passage that He wants me to share with you. Jesus is going forth, preaching, teaching, healing and working miracles, and as He looks out at the multitudes… He sees people in need. People who are troubled. People who are sick. People who are broken and hurting.
Jesus sees all these people and he isn’t disgusted by them. He isn’t disappointed in them. He isn’t mad at them. No, the Bible says He is moved, he is MOVED with compassion."
He’s moved by their situation. What moves you? What really touches you in your heart? The thing that moves Jesus is the needs of people. Peoples’ pains, peoples’ hurts, peoples’ heartaches, peoples’ disappointments. All of these things move Jesus. They move Him to compassion. I know this, if you ever pray for anything, pray that God will fill you with love and compassion for people. They need it You need it. And through the power of the Spirit of God, you can provide compassion for people, because it is so sorely lacking in our culture.
Because of His compassion, the multitudes get fed miraculously. But Jesus doesn’t feed them, He tells His disciples to feed the multitudes. And He is still telling His disciples today to go feed the hungry multitudes. If we act on faith, the multitudes will be reached, and they will be filled!
