Work Matters Sligo Libraries This Pathé News Clip features Provisional Government Troops clearing roads blocked by anti-treaty forces. Arthur Griffith was holding an election rally in Sligo on Easter Sunday 16th April and these road blocks were an attempt to stop or impede his travel. The man wielding the axe has been identified as Gen. Sean MacEoin of Ballinalee, Co. Longford.
