We begin the five parts series on the nature of God with the presentation which focuses on our natural knowledge of God's nature by looking at our natural knowledge of God in this world. We first state that our knowledge of God here on earth is not immediate knowledge as in the beatific vision in heaven but an mediate knowledge through the knowledge of creatures. We define our knowledge of God in this way through affirmation, describing positively who God is; negative, describing what God is not; and by way of eminence, deducing to end at the definition of God. We end the presentation with the statement that, of all this attempt to define God, we will fall short of knowing because of his infinite nature in comparison to our finite nature, and we in the end had to be satisfied only illustrating him analogously until we will see him in heaven.
