A story designed in sand for a visionary writer, Mircea Eliade.
Writer, historian of religions, philosopher and university professor, Mircea Eliade was born on 13 March 1907 in Bucharest. The writer attended high school at the "Spiru Haret" High School, and in 1925 he became a student at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy in Bucharest.
Mircea Eliade began writing articles on entomology at the age of 14, publishing his first work Inamicul vermelui de matase in 1921. This was followed by the fantastic short story How I Found the Philosopher's Stone, (an award-winning work by the "Popular Science Newspaper"), and the novel The Myopic Adolescent.
After his thesis, Eliade studied Sanskrit and Hindu philosophy at the University of Calculta, living for a time in the house of Professor Dasgupta, where he met his daughter. Maitreyi, an existential experience that will give birth to the novel of the same name.
Other books such as The Thugs (1935), Miss Christina (1936), India (1936), The Snake (1937), Wedding in Heaven (1938), The Tigers (1969), Midnight (1971), In the Courtyard of Dionis (1977) will continue to add to Mircea Eliade's work.
