Life Word The Amorites were the chief and leading tribe and the are used here to refer to all the Canaanite nations. The removal of the Canaanites was not to make rooms for the Israelites, but it was an act of justice because of their moral depravity and evil practices? Was God unjust? No. Was he partial? No. Even when the children of Israel forsook his ways and sold themselves to iniquity, the suffered the same fate. The only reason why they were not totally wiped out was because of the covenant he had with their fathers and for the righteousness of the few men among them.
