What Bourbons Would I Actually Pay More Than Retail For?
Someone asked if there are any bourbons I would pay more than MSRP for. There are a few, but what I'd pay is a combination of suggest retail, the experience of the pour, and just how much the market demands as a premium.
Some limited releases like Booker's can bring some premium but only $10-15% more. That feels reasonable in this market for great releases.
Some releases like Remus Repeal Reserve are very limited and special enough to make paying a 40%-50% hike if it was your only option.
Some super popular offerings from companies like Buffalo Trace are really hyped and most go for prices I can't justify. However, some like Eagle Rare have such a great experience, and the actual retail prices are so low, that a higher price is justifiable based on comparing to other products in the market.
