"What A Day That Will Be" wurde 1955 von Jim Hall für seine Schwiegermutter geschrieben, die im Alter von 50 Jahren einen Schlaganfall erlitt und fortan gelähmt war. Inspiriert wurde er dabei von einem Waisenmädchen, das bereits Jahre zuvor in einer Kirche ein Lied über die Ankunft Jesu gesungen und mit den Worten geendet hatte: "What a day that will be!" - "Welch ein Tag wird das sein!"
"Und Er wird jede Träne von ihren Augen abwischen, und der Tod wird nicht mehr sein noch Trauer noch Geschrei noch Schmerz wird mehr sein; denn das Erste ist vergangen." (Off 21,4)
