I think I may have stumbled across the two minutes during which children's TV peaked in the 1980s. The energy is unbelievable! The Pink Windmill Kids show off their full gymnastic abilities in the shape of forward rolls, somersaults, cartwheels, tumbles and splits galore, plus there's a second verse cameo from Grotbags that takes everything to another level. I can't get enough of it - takes me right back to a much happier time!
Anyway, this is Proud Mary, a.k.a. Rolling on the River, a.k.a. Rolling down the River, originally by Creedence Clearwater Revival, but arguably more famously sung by Ike & Tina Turner. This version went out on Emu's Wide World on 24th November 1987; of course, there's no way they'd broadcast it nowadays, what with all that playing by the water's edge...
