WDR Klassik Martín Palmeri wrote his tango mass "Misa a Buenos Aires" in 1996 and combined the Latin mass text with the music of the tango. The mass was performed by the WDR Rundfunkchor under the baton of Mariano Chiacchiarini together with the Minguet Quartet, Victor Hugo Villena on bandoneon and soprano Marie-Luise Dressen. Composer Martín Palmeri himself was at the piano.
