NEWS9 live The transgender wing of AAP held ‘Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se’ campaign in Delhi on April 29. AAP leader Dilip Pandey and MCD councillor Bobby Kinnar joined the campaign. They were carrying the ‘Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se’ placards to show their solidarity to AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal. The campaign was held to demand Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s release from jail who got booked in an excise policy case.
Speaking to ANI, a transgender activist Dr Sanjana Simon stated, “We have gathered here to demand the release of our beloved leader Arvind Kejriwal. There are a lot of works pending. Transgender Welfare Board hasn’t been made. No hearings have been happening lately regarding our cases. We are not getting any medical facility…. The pain of a tribal or Dalit is nothing in front of the pain of a transgender. Our community is far behind than other communities. Our community is on the streets now…. We shouldn’t fight among ourselves in order to make India a number one country. I want to request the govt in power to do their own work and let Delhi also get developed without interruption.”.
