TRAVEL VLOG IV The one and only OG Kannada content creator @chillystudio tries Dutch! I first tried Kannada in our first challenge and Shruti is now trying Dutch!!! She's the sweetest dear friend🩷 (i tricked her a bit at the end lol)
Here's the Dutch phrases mentioned, in case you want to try them yourself:
1. Lekker, lekker - Delicious!
2. Gezellig! - Good vibes/fun (can be used for many situations)
3. Hoe gaat het? - How are you?
4. Je bent niet van suiker - You're not made of sugar (you say this when someone's complaining about rain😂
5 De kat krabt de krullen van de trap - The cat is scratching the curls off the stairs (tongue twister🤪)
If you're new to India it's super important to know that almost every single State has their own language, and the locals are super passionate about it. They want to preserve their language as cultural heritage. So just learning a few words of for instance Kannada in Bengaluru will really touch the heart of the locals. Be mindful, especially in South India, that Hindi is NOT a national language. Some locals are really sensitive about this, so just be considerate about that.
Also Dutch people are usually not sentimental, but if you hit them with a bit of funny Dutch you'll def see their faces light up (mostly abroad though😅, in NL they'll probably switch to English to help you feel comfortable)
