'Solidarity and cooperation are the right path in the world.' China's Li addresses 'Summer Davos'

ShanghaiEye魔都眼 Chinese Premier Li Qiang called for better communication, exchanges, solidarity and cooperation among the international community on Tuesday.
Li made the call when addressing the opening of the 14th Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as the Summer Davos, in north China's Tianjin Municipality.
The pandemic once hindered face-to-face exchanges, and meanwhile, man-made barriers are rampant, pushing the world towards division and even confrontation, Li said.
The differences in human cognition and the diversity of civilizations have existed since ancient times, and these differences should not become reasons for isolation between individuals, ethnic groups and countries, the premier noted.
"Living in the same global village, we need to eliminate both physical barriers and man-made invisible barriers. We should deepen understanding among different countries, ethnic groups, and civilizations, further strengthen dialogue, bridge differences, and enhance consensus," said Li.
The premier also stressed solidarity and cooperation.
"Having experienced the shocks of global crises, we should all the more cherish solidarity and cooperation. The history of human social development is about constantly overcoming various challenges and difficulties. In the face of a major crisis, no country can stay unscathed or solve the problems single-handedly. Solidarity and cooperation are the right path in the world," Li said.
Over the past three years, all countries have fought hard against the COVID-19 pandemic, which demonstrated the powerful strength of humanity pulling together and looking out for each other in hard times, Li said.
Li said humanity is also confronted with global challenges such as climate change, debt risks, slowing growth, and wealth gaps.
As a community with a shared future, the world must cherish the gains of cooperation, embrace the concept of win-win cooperation, and work together to tackle these global challenges and promote human progress, he said.
About 1,500 participants from business, government, international organizations, and academia are attending the three-day event to offer insights into global economic development and potential in the post-pandemic era.
