DU Students Releases 'FYUP Ka Report Card', Also Holds Protest Against NEP | Ground Report

The Wire The All India Students' Association (AISA) organised a protest against the Four Year Undergraduate Program (FYUP) that was once scrapped by the BJP government when they first came to power in 2014 was reimplemented by them in 2022. The protest was conducted at Delhi University's Arts Faculty and was addressed by Professor Nandita Narain, former president at DUTA, Professor Vijendra Chauhan of ZHDC, Professor Jitendra Meena of SLC and All-India AISA President, N Sai Balaji. The students, supported by their professors were fighting against multiple issues emanating from the implementation of the programme. Some of the issues they raised include; fee rise, forced teaching of unnecessary subjects like Yoga, laying less emphasis on core subjects, loss of the representative nature of classrooms and many others. The protest was a culmination of a month-long survey conducted by AISA on students' opinions around the programme and its consequences. According to results released by the students' association, the results were undoubtedly against the policy. Various views and opinions were expressed at the event. Watch in.
