In Utah, there is a herd of goats that has brutally killed three dogs in three weeks, and injured many more over the years. These mountain goats have seemingly perfected the killing of dogs.
Wild animals are not harmless, especially the "cute" ones. And when you and your young are being stalked by super predators like wolves, bears, and mountain lions you can't afford to take an attack, even if a dog is being playful, as anything but a serious threat.
