NATO chief calls on allies to follow Germany's example in aid to Ukraine; US to provide $6 bln

ShanghaiEye魔都眼 The Pentagon has said it will "rush" Patriot air defence missiles and artillery ammunition to Ukraine as part of a $6bn (£4.8bn) military aid.
It’s the second package from Washington this week, following $1bn in more immediate aid announced on Wednesday.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said earlier on Friday that Kyiv "urgently" needs Patriot missiles in the face of growing Russia air threats.
Mr Zelensky said Patriots "can and should save lives right now".
However a list of the equipment in the package, published by the Defence Department, did not include additional Patriot launchers.
On the other hand, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called on other allies on Friday to follow Germany’s example and to increase their aid to Ukraine.
Stoltenberg was speaking alongside German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin where both held talks.
Ukrainian troops have faced acute shortages of shells and air defence systems, allowing Russian forces to edge forward in some parts of eastern Ukraine.
President Volodymyr Zelensky has pleaded for greater international assistance, warning that his country will lose the war without it.
