LRM Online's Gig Patta chatted with director and co-writer Radha Mehta for the short film DOSH. DOSH is making its premiere at Slamdance Film Festival 2024.
DOSH, which means both "flaw" and "fault" in Hindi, is about a Hard-of-Hearing South Asian woman who overcomes her cultural taboo of shame by choosing to stop at nothing to save her family, which in turn ends up saving herself. This is an immigrant story about love, family, and overcoming cultural taboos around mental health and physical disability. The short narrative drama will be screened in the Unstoppable Shorts Series at Slamdance Film Festival 2024 in Park City, Utah January 20th and January 24th, 2024.
