Plant-for-the-Planet On today's International Day of Forests, the whole world is talking about the climate: the latest report published by the United Nations World Meteorological Organization (WMO) confirms that 2023 was the hottest year on record. On average, the global temperature was 1.45 °C above pre-industrial levels. 🔥
But there is also positive news: A new study (link below) shows that large-scale reforestation in the 20th century in the eastern part of the US is now having a cooling effect. This kind of news is a source of hope and shows that we are on the right track. The key is to protect and restore forests NOW and to not lose any more time. ⏳
