I picked up this Nexgrill Ora 12" propane pizza oven from Home Depot for $300. This oven features a manually rotated pizza stone and an industry first "smoke box". In this Nexgrill Ora review, I quickly unbox and setup the oven before measuring its temperature and making pizzas.
After testing the preheat times, I was shocked to see how hot it gets - especially after recently testing out Sam Club's lackluster Member's Mark pizza oven. The Nexgrill Ora pizza oven started out hotter than the Roccbox, but eventually tapered off.
The burner ultimately seemed too close to the turntable part of the pizza stone, resulting in nearly unavoidable charring.
But to make matters worse, the rotation feature seldomly worked (take note - I'm sure this isn't the case with all of their products) due to which I can only assume a slightly dented piece.
The smoke box also seemed rather gimmicky. Smoke just escaped right out the front and I could not taste any discernable difference.
With a $300 price tag, this is just barely in the budget-friendly lineup. So if you're in the market for a Neapolitan-friendly 12" oven, I definitely recommend going for the Roccbox( https://youtu.be/D8vmXNhaxZg) or this new release from Ooni: https://geni.us/karu12G
