What happens to the many family bands who don't end up with the megabucks, the groupies, or the fame like The Brady Brunch or The Partridge Family? After more than a decade of resounding failure, can a family band stay together not only as a band but as a family? Documentary filmmaker Josh Winger turns the camera on himself and those dearest to him as he follows his own family band, Mixed Bag, through their tumultuous career spanning seedy bars and festivals across Minnesota and Wisconsin. The film dabbles in comedy, finding a heartwarming way to find humor in the band's disappointments, but also touches the audience on a deeper level as we all can relate to dreams of talent of fame.The Legend of Mixed Bag brings us on a journey suffused with love and passion for rock and roll and the longing for quality family time.
