Jesus is confronted by religious leaders in Matthew 22:15-22. While they are outwardly nice, they are inwardly hostile. They plot against Jesus with manipulation and deceit. It is the exact opposite of how God would have us treat other people. But Jesus sees through their gossip and flattery. He calls out their hypocrisy because nothing escapes his attention. It is a lesson for us in how we relate to others.
