Older adults often live with several chronic diseases and therefore take several medications. The study examined how an electronic clinical decision support system used by general practitioners (GPs) can contribute to improved medication. At the same time, it points out hurdles in their implementation.
However, inappropriate prescribing and errors in medication use increase health risks and costs. This study examined how an electronic decision support system designed for general practitioners (GPs) can improve prescribing appropriateness and patient quality of life.
Project 22 (Sven Streit) was part of the National Research Programme "Smarter Health Care" (NRP74).
