Hey everyone! On this NEW ice dye tutorial, we will create a DUI (dye under ice) pleated V-pattern t-shirt! Watch until the end to see how this project turned out! ✨️
All the materials I used in the video are listed below! Thanks for watching! ✌🏽
Process:
Soak items in soda ash mixture for 15-20 minutes.
Wring out with hands or spin cycle only.
Start folding while shirt is damp or close to being dry.
A yard stick to trace your pattern.
Washable marker.
Using rubber bands, kite string, sinew thread to keep everything in place.
Add fiber reactive dye.
A layer of soda ash.
Crushed ice.
Reveal after 48 hrs.
🧼 Rinse your garment in cold water first. Gradually raise the temperature until it's hot. You want the water to run clear. Keep rinsing until you barely see any dye leftover. I always recommend washing in cold water ONLY to my customers. This helps your colors remain vibrant for a longer period of time!

1 gallon of water
1 cup of soda ash
100% Cotton Tee
Sinew Thread
Rubber Bands
Binder Clips
Yard Stick
Washable Marker
Sponge Brush
Metal Rack
Plastic Wrap
Plastic Container
Plastic Squeeze bottles
Cardboard
Cake Molds (helps hold the ice in place)
Crushed Ice
Procion Dyes
