WCNC Overnight, winds will begin to lighten and sky conditions will become mostly clear. The combination of these two atmospheric changes will allow for lows to drop to the upper 20s and low 30s. Most of Sunday afternoon sees abundant sunshine and highs in the mid-upper 50s. Overall, it's a much better day to be outside compared to Saturday.
Highest elevation of the mountains (3500 feet and above) will experience more snow showers overnight into Sunday morning. A dusting to half an inch is expected at best before the entire region is clear by midday. Lows will drop to the low 20s with a chilly start to the day!
A few clouds mix in Sunday night with a brief shower possible but rain chances are some of their lowest on Monday compared to the rain of the week. A frontal boundary will stall near the Carolinas allowing for better rain chances midweek. A secondary storm system looks to build in from the southwest late next week and into next weekend but there's still a lot of time to watch. In general, the pattern turns rainier and warmer over the next 7 - 10 days!
