Ukrainian Brigades Begin Fighting after Being Trained in the West
The arrival of a new unit could be very important. Ukraine's counteroffensive, though, has so far stalled.
They are fighting more effectively in the evening than their Russian adversaries, according to U.S. officials.
They are using American-made Bradley fighting vehicles to use anti-tank missiles to destroy Russian armour.
They also employ combined arms tactics, which are coordinated assaults by infantry, armour, and artillery forces, which they learned from American and other Western forces.
The 36,000 brigades of Ukrainian military personnel that the US and its NATO allies outside of Ukraine have been arming, preparing, and training over the past few months are now prepared for combat.
According to military experts, the efficiency of Ukraine's eagerly awaited counteroffensive to expel Russian forces from occupied territory will partly depend on how these Foreign troops conduct themselves over the ensuing months.
Their performance will also demonstrate whether Ukraine has successfully upgraded its military to a fighting force that complies with NATO standards thanks to the hundreds of billions of dollars in weapons it has received from its allies, including $40 billion from the Biden administration.
However, Ukraine has made little headway, and even the creators of the American strategy acknowledge that the counteroffensive hasn't yet resulted in any quick victories comparable to the Ukrainian military's one-week retaking of Kharkiv last autumn.
Ukrainian forces broke through the first line of Russian defensive lines and retook a number of villages.
A few of their most recent Western tanks and pieces of artillery, however, have been lost.
The significant proportion of the nine Ukrainian regiments have not yet joined the fight, but the squad of that main attack force has become noticeable.
According to military analysts and commentators from Ukraine, trying to fight at night has given their side an advantage.
German-supplied Bradley and Leopard tanks are better equipped than the Russians to locate and engage targets in the dark at greater ranges.
Analysts claim that the disparity is now even more pronounced because so many of Russia's more advanced, modern versions were completely destroyed in earlier battles, leading it to appear to be using older, less effective tanks.
Ukraine has enhanced the additional units with battle-tested battalions in order to slip past Russian minefields and breach other heavily guarded defences.
Following the deployment of their entire units as part of their weeks-long training, the regiments' soldiers quickly rotated into frontline combat units.
