When I was clearing out the household of my father which passed away in 2020, I found my old experimental sketches and texts from my childhood, in which I created my own manga character.
I never made it public because at the time (8-12 years old) I was already notorious as a video game nerd and didn't want to be called an "otaku" as well... But that has subsided since my father's death and I'm dealing now openly with the matter.
I created the character School Ghost Sakamoto-San (Gakko no Yurei no Sakamoto-San) back in 2006 (I was 15/16 years old) but my manga drawing skills were poor, which is why I limited myself to writing. This year (2023) I went to a manga and anime meeting/convention in Nuremberg @FrankenMEXX for the first time and found the artist
(www.instagram.com/sukai95) there, who put my idea down perfectly on paper!
I have now put together this presentation based on her work and the use of other “free-to-use” elements. Maybe there will be a few mangaka who would like to incorporate my character into one of their works... If that happens, it would be a great honor for me!
