The quintessential Glen Garioch, Founder’s Reserve celebrates the brothers who first established the distillery. The 1797 Founder’s Reserve (often just called Founder’s Reserve) is the mainstay of the distillery’s core line of whiskies and comes bottled at a respectable 48% ABV / 96 Proof. While we have our own opinion on this bottle, here is what the distillery says about it:
Nose: Warm amber in appearance, sweet vanilla and subtle spice combine with fruitier green apple and grapefruits on the nose.
Palate: Butter cream and vanilla pave the way to fruity green apple skin and citrus cleanliness, leading to an elegant and subtle finish.
