You often hear that Islam promotes respect and tolerance of other religions, particularly Christianity and Judaism. However, Islam (when practiced as a political system) tends to be quite intolerant, so I decided to go to the Qur'an itself to find who is twisting its scriptures to fuel their own personal worldview--the preachers of hate or the preachers of tolerance.
Please note, though, that while I've found that there is more textual evidence in the Qur'an for the belief system of the former, all my support goes to the latter. I just wish that instead of ignoring the problem their holy text presents, they would acknowledge it and find a solution.
