L: Trust in the LORD with all your heart; And lean not on your own understanding.
C: In all our ways we will submit to him, The LORD will make straight our paths.
L: Do not despise the LORD’s discipline, And do not resent his rebuke.
C: Because the LORD disciplines those he loves, As a father the children he delights in.
L: Blessed are those who find wisdom, Those who gain understanding.
C: The humble and wise will inherit honour; But the proud and foolish will get only shame.

Prayer of Confession
Heavenly Father, you are an all-powerful, all-loving, and all-wise God. You always supply the good things we need at the right time. Yet, so often we stray from your ways following the sinful desires of our hearts. We fear the shame and threats of ungodly peoples, rather than the wrath of a holy God. We close our ears to your call. We leave undone things we should have done. Forgive us O Lord. Restore those who are repentant. Enable us to truly surrender all and follow Jesus faithfully, for your glory and for our good. We ask all this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
