Now you're talking! I love these high-energy, upbeat songs that the Pink Windmill Kids did. Okay, so they occasionally wandered close to the realms that could possibly be described as within touching distance of "cheesy", but there's just such a major feel-good air to them, from a much more innocent time, you can't help but enjoy it.
The song, of course, is Kenny Loggins's Footloose from the film of the same name, and it opened the second series of Emu's All Live Pink Windmill Show on 12th April 1985.
Just as a brief aside, a big thumbs-up to whoever timed that shot on the escalator. It doesn't seem like much, but actually think it through: when does Debbie (at the top) get on? When do the kids at the bottom get on? When do you roll the playback of the music? How do you calculate it so that everything lines up in shot at the right time? It's almost like the directors deliberately created headaches for themselves!
