Biden denies US & allies involvement in Wagner incident; Russia looking into role of Ukraine & West

ShanghaiEye魔都眼 US President Joe Biden on Monday said a brief uprising by Russian mercenaries against the Kremlin is part of a struggle within the Russian system and the US and its allies were not involved in it.
Biden addressed the dramatic power struggle that erupted over the weekend when the mutineers barreled toward Moscow only to stop before reaching the capital.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Monday said US Ambassador to Moscow contacted Russian representatives on Saturday to signal Washington had no involvement in the armed revolt by mercenaries.
Lavrov added that Russian security agencies were looking into if Ukrainian or Western spy agencies could have been involved in staging the mutiny.
