Attack Footage: The Ukrainian Military's Horrific Rapid Assault Silences All Criticism.Ukraine does not "need to prove anything," Kyiv's foreign minister said, as Kyiv fired back at criticism for the speed of its ongoing counteroffensive, now more than two and a half months in an effort to drag Russian troops back.
"We don't have to prove anything - our success will reward optimists and damage the reputation of doubters," Dmytro Kuleba told German newspaper Bild in an article published on Saturday. "Never underestimate Ukraine," he said. "Be patient. Winning is hard work."
Ukraine launched a joint offensive against Russian troops in the east and south of the country in early June, and although it has recaptured some territory from the Russian troops dug in, the pace of progress has been slow. On Wednesday, Ukraine's Deputy Defense Minister, Hanna Maliar, said Kyiv had recaptured the Zaporizhzhia village of Urochaine, marking the first reclaimed settlement in weeks.
