Fwuq Might be some RNG in whether the guard survives or not due to your collection buff.
I have every recipe collectible for example so over 50% hp buff however he doesn't need to survive so it should be fine.
Enemy can alter their skill usage so may differ slightly but just prioritize the enemy skills same as I do.
