The world's highest railway enters a new era as the first Fuxing bullet train embarks on its journey from Xining to Geermu on the Qinghai-Xizang Railway. The bullet train can travel at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour, at an altitude of 3,500 meters above sea level and at a temperature as low as 40 degrees Celsius below zero. The high-speed train cuts travel time between Xining and Geermu by 30 percent.
