How can a band talk about environmental issues? Carrying the voice of a growing community aspiring to a society that puts forward justice and the respect of all living beings, french band BRAVERY IN BATTLE offers THE HOUSE WE LIVE IN, the first stage, musical and visual experience that thinks about the world we have to built together. To create this musical and video experience, they interviewed and filmed philosophers, scientists and writers : Bill McKibben (350.org, USA) , Paul Hawken (DrawDown project, USA), Vandana Shiva (ecofeminist, India), Mélanie Laurent (actress, France), Hubert Reeves (astrophysicist, France), John Francis ("Planetwalker, eco-activist & candidate to US Congress 2020, USA), Clive Hamilton (philosopher, Australia) & Jean Claude Ameisen (biologist, France).
Their speeches were placed at the very heart of the music, using the musicalizing method dear to Steve Reich, while their image served as a starting point to the making of a meditative film. The result is a one-of-a-kind project and sensory experience, being an album, a concert and a movie at the same time.
