Main Ideas:
We try to control our fear by creating our own personal kingdoms.
Relying on our own kingdoms only creates more fear and conflict.
We are invited to let go and live in the Kingdom of God.
Fighting for our own kingdoms causes us to pick stupid fights.
When we try to rule our own kingdoms we inflate our own importance.
The Kingdom of God is God ruling in the hearts, minds, and lives of his people.
In the Kingdom of God, we are free to enjoy the king and his kingdom.
The Kingdom of God is the only Kingdom that lasts forever.
When we live for our own kingdoms we lose who we really are.
When we live for the Kingdom of God we find true life we can never lose.
Invitation:
Focus on the true King and his Kingdom by reading and praying Matthew 6:9-13
Ask: Who’s kingdom am I living for? Mine or God’s?
Discussion Questions:
1. What sticks out to you, encourages, or excites you about this week’s message? What makes you uncomfortable, seems untrue, frustrates, or confuses you?

Main Ideas:
The voices around us have been desperately trying to convince us we have enemies all around us.
Loving our enemies seems like the stupidest, most unproductive thing in the world.
Jesus changed the world by insisting on loving his enemies.
Empathy opens the door to love.
Loving our enemies is a conscious choice to purposely do good for them.
Love pursues reconciliation over winning.
Jesus died to love his enemies.
We make excuses and don’t even try loving our enemies because we’re afraid.
When we are free of fear we are free to love our enemies.
When we love our enemies, we become a part of God’s mission of reconciliation.

Read Romans 12:14-21
Pray, “Let me see my enemy(ies) through your eyes.”
Find one way to purposely love an enemy this week.

Main Ideas:
Jesus’ interactions with people revealed God’s heart toward people.
Sin separates and kills
Jesus came to bring forgiveness.
We’ll never experience the joy and freedom of forgiveness if we insist on calling ourselves mistakers.
Jesus’ harshest rebukes were not for sinners but for those who claimed the right to judge sinners.
Love is the response to and proof of forgiveness.
One of the most offensive things about Jesus was and is his forgiveness.
God loves sinners so much that he died for them.
Forgiveness isn’t something we earn it’s something we accept.
Jesus didn’t reject sinners. He forgave people.

Read Ephesians 4 vv31-32
Pray: Jesus thank you for forgiving me. Help me forgive others today.

1. What initial thoughts come to mind when you hear the word “sin”?

Main Ideas:
We waste so much energy deciding who should be in and who should be out.
Jesus’ inclusion of people reveals God’s inclusive heart.
We expect God to exclude the people we exclude.
God loves to include.
Jesus’ inclusivity comforts the rejected and offends the exclusive.
The faith of the rejected amazes Jesus
Membership in the KoG is dependent on one thing… Trust in Jesus.
Jesus’ initial reaction is always to open his arms and say, “Welcome home!”
A Jesus Follower’s role is to offer the invitation, not decide who should be allowed into the party.
The inclusion of God is the only thing that can bring the world together.
Invitation:
Take a moment to pray for someone you have rejected.
Read a Gospel and make a note everytime Jesus accepts someone.

1. What stood out, bothered, confused, angered, encouraged, inspired, or comforted you in this week’s message?

Main Ideas:
Often Jesus is someone we try to follow but rarely talk about.
Loving our neighbor means inviting them to enjoy the true source of love… Jesus
If you've experienced life with Jesus you can invite others to the life Jesus offers.
We should invite our neighbors to enjoy life with us before we invite them to enjoy God with us.
A perfect relationship of enjoying God is a FREE GIFT.
SIN separates us from God, each other, and ourselves.
GOD wants to destroy evil but not destroy the evil-doers… his children.
JESUS died and rose again to free us from the power of sin and death and give us new life now and forever.
We receive the life Jesus offers by choosing to TRUST he is who he said he is and can do what he said he can do.
We CAN invite our neighbors to Discover, Enjoy and Share the life Jesus offers… together.
Invitation:
Practice explaining what WE believe.
Write down why YOU believe.
Pray for opportunities to invite your neighbor…
…Into your life
…Into your church community.
…Into the new life Jesus offers.
Discussion Questions:
1. If you are a Jesus-Follower, why do you follow him and what do you enjoy about him? If you don't consider yourself a Jesus Follower, how do you think following him would impact your life?
2. What would it look like for you to "worship Jesus as Lord of your life," as Peter said?
3. Read 2 Corinthians 5 vv17-21. Who in your life might God be pursuing, and how can you be part of their journey to discover Jesus?
4. How can you prepare yourself to explain the hope you have as a follower of Jesus?
5. How can your group pray with you this week?

Main Ideas:
Together, we can be part of creating the future we want to see.
Jesus Followers exist to show the rest of the world they can enjoy the love of God.
If we really want to invite our neighbors to enjoy God… We have to do it together.
We gather together FOR our friend’s neighbor.
To be a community that loves our neighbors we first have to commit to being a community.
Loving our neighbors requires a community committed to loving each others’ neighbors.
When we commit to creating a loving community we are committing to love our neighbor… together.
Invitation:
Ask: What am I willing to do to create a community that loves my neighbor?
Commit to showing up
Commit to helping out.
Discussion Questions:
1. Describe a time you were new to a class/group/church. What did it feel like? What made it a positive or negative experience?
2. What challenges do you think people face when they are new to a church gathering, and how can we help them feel more welcome?
3. Reread 1 Peter 2:9-10. Why do you think Peter emphasized “y’all” in his message, referring to the community rather than individuals?
4. What would you be willing to do to help create a community that loves our friends’ neighbors?
