Ismene, kiu planas partopreni en anarkisma operacio, insistas pri tio, ke Effie iru kun ŝi. Effie tamen respondas, ke ŝi pli volonte helpos al sia avinjo. La polico serĉas Ismene. Effie refuzas malkovri al polico, kie troviĝas Ismene, kaj pro tio mem estas arestata kiel kunlaboranto. La plej granda defendanto de la lando, detektivo Koralo pridemandas ŝin. Pensante nur pri unu cigaredo kaj trankvile atendante sian mortkondamnon, Effie ne scias, kiu terura surprizo atendas ŝin.

English:
The story of two childhood friends, political activist Ismene and apolitical and naïve Effie... A dangerous totalitarian regime in an untimely era, where the people speak Esperanto. We are free to choose whether to become activists or not, but can we determine the consequences of these choices?
Ismene, who is about to take part in an anarchist operation, insists that Effie come with her. Effie responds that she'd rather help those closest first, and decides that she'd rather go help her grandmother. However, her refusal to tell the location of Ismene to the police, who are looking for her, results in Effie's own arrest as collaborator. She is interrogated by this unknown country's biggest defender, detective Koralo. Thinking only of one cigarette, and calmly waiting for her death sentence, Effie is unaware of the terrible surprise to come.

La historio pri du amikinoj, unu politikema aktivulo Ismene kaj unu nepolitikema kaj naiva Effie... Ĉio okazas en danĝera totalisma reĝimo en sentempa epoko, kiam ĉiu parolas Esperanton. Ni estas liberaj elekti, ĉu iĝi aktivulo aŭ ne, sed ĉu ni povas determini la konsekvencojn de tiu elekto?
Ismene, kiu planas partopreni en anarkisma operacio, insistas pri tio, ke Effie iru kun ŝi. Effie tamen respondas, ke ŝi pli volonte helpos al sia avinjo. La polico serĉas Ismene. Effie refuzas malkovri al polico, kie troviĝas Ismene, kaj pro tio mem estas arestata kiel kunlaboranto. La plej granda defendanto de la lando, detektivo Koralo pridemandas ŝin. Pensante nur pri unu cigaredo kaj trankvile atendante sian mortkondamnon, Effie ne scias, kiu terura surprizo atendas ŝin.

English:
The story of two childhood friends, political activist Ismene and apolitical and naïve Effie... A dangerous totalitarian regime in an untimely era, where the people speak Esperanto. We are free to choose whether to become activists or not, but can we determine the consequences of these choices?
Ismene, who is about to take part in an anarchist operation, insists that Effie come with her. Effie responds that she'd rather help those closest first, and decides that she'd rather go help her grandmother. However, her refusal to tell the location of Ismene to the police, who are looking for her, results in Effie's own arrest as collaborator. She is interrogated by this unknown country's biggest defender, detective Koralo. Thinking only of one cigarette, and calmly waiting for her death sentence, Effie is unaware of the terrible surprise to come.
