The Celtic religious leaders were called Druids and were High priests. The word Druid means,"knowing the oak tree". They were around during the time of the 2nd century BC to the 2nd century AD. The Druids were well versed in Astrology, witchcraft, and the mysterious powers of plants and animals. The Celts {Druids} religious ceremonies were performed in the "Sacred Oak Grove" usually in the forest sanctuaries they set up human sacrifices on Halloween.
