Sehr traurig, so etwas zu sehen. Auch in Kasachstan müssen wir mit unserem Hund zum Tierarzt. Im Video geben wir ein paar Infos, wie es unserem Hund mit der Bisswunde geht.
In this video we drive from Russia to Kazakhstan. In Atyrau we cross Ural River and so the border between Europe and Asia. Through the huge steppe we arrive at the big city of Aqtöbe with some interesting view points and huge supermarkets. The roads are partly terrible. On the way we see many camels, horses and salt lakes and we find amazing lonely overnight spots. Aral Lake is only a fraction of its original size, a manmade environmental desaster. So sad to see this. Also in Kazakhstan we have to go to a vet with our dog. In this video we give an update how our dog's wound is healing.

From Batumi we drive to the Georgian capital, which is Tbilisi. There we meet our travel fellows. In Truso Valley we prepare the border crossing to Russia. Unfortunately our dog gets heavily injured by another dog, so we have to look for a vet. After arriving in Russia, we are surprised by the beauty of the cities Wladikawkas and Astrachan and the hospitality. We stay some days in the amazing Wolga Delta, before we continue to Kazakhstan.

We start our Centralasia roadtrip in Switzerland. In Italy we take the ferry to Greece. After visiting some beautiful coastal towns in Bulgaria, we take the trucker ferry to Georgia. A special experience, as on board the atmosphere is rough but warm. But the food is excellent.

In April 2024 we will start our Central Asia trip. We will use 2 ferries (from Venice to Igoumentitsa) and a Black Sea ferry to get to Georgia, where we will meet the other travel fellows. From Georgia we will cross Russia (transit route) towards Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and of course Uzbekistan. A highlight will be the Pamir highway. As we did on our Caucasus/Iran/Arabic peninsula trip 2022/23, we will drive in a loose group with other travel fellows, such as Mankei Travel and Womo Adventure. After 6 years on the road and 80'000 kilometers our Mercedes Vario 4x4 (Benny, the Benz) needs a wellness treatment. Besides repairs and maintenance works our vehicle is getting various upgrades. Reisezeitraum: Mai 2023
In diesem letzten Video unserer Orient Reise reisen wir von Jordanien nach Israel ein. Wir haben viel über diesen Grenzübertritt gehört, also bereiten wir uns sorgfältig vor. Aufgrund des starken Verkehrs in Israel entscheiden wir uns für eine frühere Frachter Verschiffung. Und so bleiben uns nur wenige Tage in Israel. Wir schauen uns die Hafenstädtchen Akko und Jaffa an und schlendern durch Tel Aviv. Dann verschiffen wir unseren Benz nach Griechenland, wo wir uns noch einige entspannte Tage gönnen. Im Video zeigen wir euch die erheblichen Kosten auf, die mit der Einreise Israel und der Verschiffung verbunden sind. Mit der Fähre von Griechenland nach Italien geht es dann wieder zurück nach Zentraleuropa. Nach einem Jahr auf Reise kommen wir im Juni 2023 wieder in der Schweiz an.
This is the last video of our Orient trip. We enter Israel from Jordan. We have heard a lot about this border crossing, so we are well prepared. Due to the heavy traffic in Israel we decide for an earlier vessel shipment of our truck. So we have only a few days in Israel, which we spend in Akko, Jaffa and Tel Aviv. Then we ship our truck to Greece. In this video we present you all the significant costs for the border crossing and the shipment. With the ferry from Greece to Italy we get back to Central Europe. After 1 year of travels we arrive in Switzerland in June 2023.

In diesem Video starten wir bei der Felsenstadt Petra in den grünen Norden von Jordanien. Im Dana Nature Reserve machen wir mehrere Wanderungen und geniessen das leckere Essen im Camp Nawatef. Die Kreuzritterburgen Shobak und Karak schauen wir uns natürlich auch an. Dann geht es zum tiefsten anfahrbaren Punkt der Erde, zum Toten Meer. Klar, einmal im Wasser des Toten Meeres schweben, das muss einfach sein. In der coolen jordanischen Hauptstadt Amman bleiben wir 5 Tage, besuchen den farbenfrohen Soukh und machen einen arabischen Kochkurs. Römische Siedlungen besichtigen wir in Jerash und in Umm Qais, mit wunderschönem Blick über den See Genezareth. Und auch an vielen biblischen Orten kommen wir vorbei. Die Tour geht bis kurz vor die Grenze Israel.
In this video we start our tour after the ancient city of Petra. We drive to the Dana Nature Reserve, where we do several hikes, and enjoy the yummy food at Camp Nawatef. Of course we visit the crusader castles of Shobak and Karak. Then we drive to the lowest point on earth, to the Dead Sea. It is a once in a lifetime experience to float in the water and relax. In Amman, the cool Jordan capital, we stay for 5 days, where we visit the colourful soukh and participate in an Arabian cooking class. In the north of Jordan we visit the ancient Roman cities at Jerash and Umm Qais, with a beautiful view over Lake Galilee. We also pass various biblical sites. Our tour ends close to the border of Israel.

In this video we arrive at our 12th country on our Orient trip, in Jordan. In the south of Jordan are 3 top highlights: The coral reefs of Aqaba, the Wadi Rum desert and the ancient town of Petra. The ancient empire of the Nabataeans left their tracks everywhere, and we follow them with our Mercedes Vario 4x4. Of course, we explore the underwater world of the Red Sea.

In this video we drive with our Mercedes Vario 4x4 to amazing rock formations (Rainbow Arch, Mushroom Rock) in the northwest of Saudi Arabia, before we explore the impressive Wadi Deesah and afterwards the Grand Canyon. At the Red Sea we discover not only a beautiful coastal road, but also a plane wreck and a ship wreck, well known as the Titanic of Saudi Arabia.

In diesem Video starten wir beim Rabigh Beach am roten Meer, wo wir unter Wasser das farbenfrohe Korallenriff bestaunen. Dann gehts an Medina vorbei, und fahren auf Lavapisten zum Khaybar Vulkangebiet mit dem beeindruckenden weissen Vulkan. Hier fühlen wir uns stark erinnert an unsere Islandreise 2019. Nun steht Offroad auf dem Programm. Auf sandigen Pisten fahren wir offroad zum Split Rock, und sehen tolle Felsformationen wie den Chinese Dragon oder die Sphinx. Am Schluss gehts dann in das Touristenmekka Al Ula. Dort besichtigen wir die Old Town Al Ula, die Gräber von Hegra und den grossen Elefanten.
In this video we start at Rabigh Beach at the Red Sea, where we do a snorqel trip to the colourful coral reef. We pass Medina, and drive on lava tracks to the impressive Khaybar vulcano area with its amazing white vulcano. This heavily reminds us of our Iceland trip in 2019. Now it is time for offroad. On sandy tracks we drive to the Split Rock, passing by special rock formations like the Chinese Dragon and the Sphinx. Finally we drive to the tourist mecca of Al Ula. There we visit the Old Town, the tombs of Hegra and the Elephant Rock.

In diesem Video entdecken wir zuerst die Stadt Najran ganz im Süden von Saudi Arabien, die überraschend viel zu bieten hat. Dann geht es auf die Panoramastrasse durch das Asir Gebirge, die teilweise auf über 2000m Höhe verläuft. Affen sind nun unsere ständigen Begleiter. Wir geniessen die angenehmen Temperaturen in der Bergwelt, sind erstaunt über Nebelschwaden, und machen Abstecher zu den sehenswerten Orten Rijal Almaa, Thee Ain und Ash Shafa, bevor wir dann weiter nach Jeddah fahren. In Jeddah bestaunen wir nicht nur die Holzbalkone, sondern auch die welthöchste Wasserfontäne.
In this video we first explore Najran city in the south of Saudi Arabia, which surprisingly has to offer a lot. Then we drive on the scenic road through the Asir mountains, on an altitude of over 2000m. Monkeys are all along the road. We enjoy the pleasant temperatures in the mountains (we are surprised of the fog) and do trips to the beautiful spots at Rijal Almaa, Thee Ain and Ash Shafa. Then we continue to Jeddah city, where we see not only the beautiful houses with the wooden balconies, but also the worlds highest water fountain.

In diesem Video fahren wir die ersten 1000km von der Grenze Oman durch die Rub al Khali Wüste bis nach Riyadh. Die Stadt ist riesig, und für uns nicht leicht zu erkunden. Wir sind sehr froh, dass uns Fahad bei der Stadtbesichtigung unterstützt. Nördlich von Riyadh fahren wir zuerst zur beeindruckenden Felsklippe Edge of Alammariya und dann zu zwei schönen Lehmdörfern. Ein Höhepunkt ist der Fels Faisal Finger, der uns stark an das Monument Valley in den USA erinnert.
Danach fahren wir die nächsten 1000km durch die Wüste ganz in den Süden bis kurz vor die Stadt Najran an der Grenze zum Jemen.
In this video we drive the first 1000km from the Oman border through the Rub al Khali desert to Riyadh. A huge city not easy to explore. We are very happy about the support by Fahad. North of Riyadh we drive to the impressive cliffs of Edge of Alammariya and to two beautiful mud brick villages. A highlight is the rock Faisal Finger, which reminds us of the Monument Valley in the USA. Now we drive the next 1000km through the desert to the south, close to Najran city at the border to Yemen.

Das 4. Oman Video. Nach dem Oman gehts dann weiter in Saudi Arabien. In diesem Video fahren wir an der Ostküste vom Oman weiter hoch. Zuerst zum Schildkrötenstrand, wo wir tatsächlich auch Schildkröten sehen. Dann gehts zur eindrucksvollen Dhau Werft in Sur, bevor die beiden wunderschönen Wadi Tiwi und Wadi Shab auf uns warten. Für eine Delphinbeobachtungstour fahren wir nochmals nach Muscat, und müssen auch in eine Mercedes Werkstatt. Über Nizwa, Bahla und Ibri gehts dann weiter an die Grenze nach Saudi Arabien.
This is the 4th Oman video, before we enter Saudi Arabia. In this video we continue to drive the coast of Oman north. First to the turtle beach, where we luckily see turtles. Then to the dhow factory in Sur. Afterwards we drive to the amazing Wadi Tiwi and Wadi Shab. For a dolphin tour we head to Muscat again, but we also need to go to a Mercedes workshop. Passing Nizwa, Bahla and Ibri, we then drive to the border of Saudi Arabia.

1:: Durch die weite kasachische Steppe bis zum zerstörten Aralsee / Overlanding Centralasia #3 2024

In Atyrau überqueren wir den Fluss Ural, die Grenze zwischen Europa und Asien. Durch die unendlich weite Steppe erreichen wir auf teilweise fürchterlichen Strassen die Grossstadt Aqtöbe mit einigen interessanten Sehenswürdigkeiten und einem unfassbar grossen Supermarktangebot. Unterwegs sehen wir viele Kamele, Pferde und Salzseen und finden traumhafte einsame Stellplätze. Vom Aralsee ist leider kaum noch etwas übrig. Ein menschengemachtes Umweltdesaster. Sehr traurig, so etwas zu sehen. Auch in Kasachstan müssen wir mit unserem Hund zum Tierarzt. Im Video geben wir ein paar Infos, wie es unserem Hund mit der Bisswunde geht.
In this video we drive from Russia to Kazakhstan. In Atyrau we cross Ural River and so the border between Europe and Asia. Through the huge steppe we arrive at the big city of Aqtöbe with some interesting view points and huge supermarkets. The roads are partly terrible. On the way we see many camels, horses and salt lakes and we find amazing lonely overnight spots. Aral Lake is only a fraction of its original size, a manmade environmental desaster. So sad to see this. Also in Kazakhstan we have to go to a vet with our dog. In this video we give an update how our dog's wound is healing.

Im Truso Valley bereiten wir uns auf den Grenzübergang nach Russland vor. Leider wird unser Hund von einem anderen Hund schwer gebissen und wir müssen dringend einen Tierarzt finden.
In Russland angekommen, sind wir überrascht über die schönen Städte Wladikawkas und Astrachan und die Gastfreundschaft. Wir bleiben einige Tage im wunderschönen Wolga Delta, bevor es nach Kasachstan weitergeht.
From Batumi we drive to the Georgian capital, which is Tbilisi. There we meet our travel fellows. In Truso Valley we prepare the border crossing to Russia. Unfortunately our dog gets heavily injured by another dog, so we have to look for a vet. After arriving in Russia, we are surprised by the beauty of the cities Wladikawkas and Astrachan and the hospitality. We stay some days in the amazing Wolga Delta, before we continue to Kazakhstan.

In Italien nehmen wir die Fähre nach Griechenland, durchfahren den Norden des Landes, erkunden dann einige schöne Küstenorte in Bulgarien. Von Bulgarien nehmen wir die Truckerfähre nach Georgien. Ein besonderes Erlebnis, denn an Bord herrscht eine rauhe, aber herzliche Atmosphäre. Und das Essen ist hervorragend.
We start our Centralasia roadtrip in Switzerland. In Italy we take the ferry to Greece. After visiting some beautiful coastal towns in Bulgaria, we take the trucker ferry to Georgia. A special experience, as on board the atmosphere is rough but warm. But the food is excellent.

4:: Centralasia 2024. Ein Roadtrip zur chinesischen Grenze / A roadtrip to the Chinese border.

Wir werden zwei Fähren nutzen (von Venedig nach Igoumenitsa) und dann die Schwarzmeer Fähre nach Batumi in Georgien, wo wir unsere Reisekollegen treffen. Von Georgien gehts dann auf einer Transitstrecke durch Russland nach Kasachstan. Kirgistan, Tadschikistan und Usbekistan bilden den Schwerpunkt der Reise, mit dem Pamir Highway als Highlight. Wie sich das bereits auf unserer Kaukasus/Iran/Arabien Reise 2022/23 bewährt hat, sind wir in einer losen Gruppe unterwegs. Mit dabei sind u.a. Mankei Travel und Womo Adventure. Wir planen bis Jahresende wieder zurück in der Schweiz zu sein. Ab Ende April starten wir auch wieder mit unseren Reisevideos. Bis bald on the road ;-).
In April 2024 we will start our Central Asia trip. We will use 2 ferries (from Venice to Igoumentitsa) and a Black Sea ferry to get to Georgia, where we will meet the other travel fellows. From Georgia we will cross Russia (transit route) towards Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and of course Uzbekistan. A highlight will be the Pamir highway. As we did on our Caucasus/Iran/Arabic peninsula trip 2022/23, we will drive in a loose group with other travel fellows, such as Mankei Travel and Womo Adventure. We plan to be back in Switzerland end of this year. Our travel videos will start end of April. See you soon on the road ;-).

In diesem letzten Video unserer Orient Reise reisen wir von Jordanien nach Israel ein. Wir haben viel über diesen Grenzübertritt gehört, also bereiten wir uns sorgfältig vor. Aufgrund des starken Verkehrs in Israel entscheiden wir uns für eine frühere Frachter Verschiffung. Und so bleiben uns nur wenige Tage in Israel. Wir schauen uns die Hafenstädtchen Akko und Jaffa an und schlendern durch Tel Aviv. Dann verschiffen wir unseren Benz nach Griechenland, wo wir uns noch einige entspannte Tage gönnen. Im Video zeigen wir euch die erheblichen Kosten auf, die mit der Einreise Israel und der Verschiffung verbunden sind. Mit der Fähre von Griechenland nach Italien geht es dann wieder zurück nach Zentraleuropa. Nach einem Jahr auf Reise kommen wir im Juni 2023 wieder in der Schweiz an.
This is the last video of our Orient trip. We enter Israel from Jordan. We have heard a lot about this border crossing, so we are well prepared. Due to the heavy traffic in Israel we decide for an earlier vessel shipment of our truck. So we have only a few days in Israel, which we spend in Akko, Jaffa and Tel Aviv. Then we ship our truck to Greece. In this video we present you all the significant costs for the border crossing and the shipment. With the ferry from Greece to Italy we get back to Central Europe. After 1 year of travels we arrive in Switzerland in June 2023.

In diesem Video starten wir bei der Felsenstadt Petra in den grünen Norden von Jordanien. Im Dana Nature Reserve machen wir mehrere Wanderungen und geniessen das leckere Essen im Camp Nawatef. Die Kreuzritterburgen Shobak und Karak schauen wir uns natürlich auch an. Dann geht es zum tiefsten anfahrbaren Punkt der Erde, zum Toten Meer. Klar, einmal im Wasser des Toten Meeres schweben, das muss einfach sein. In der coolen jordanischen Hauptstadt Amman bleiben wir 5 Tage, besuchen den farbenfrohen Soukh und machen einen arabischen Kochkurs. Römische Siedlungen besichtigen wir in Jerash und in Umm Qais, mit wunderschönem Blick über den See Genezareth. Und auch an vielen biblischen Orten kommen wir vorbei. Die Tour geht bis kurz vor die Grenze Israel.
In this video we start our tour after the ancient city of Petra. We drive to the Dana Nature Reserve, where we do several hikes, and enjoy the yummy food at Camp Nawatef. Of course we visit the crusader castles of Shobak and Karak. Then we drive to the lowest point on earth, to the Dead Sea. It is a once in a lifetime experience to float in the water and relax. In Amman, the cool Jordan capital, we stay for 5 days, where we visit the colourful soukh and participate in an Arabian cooking class. In the north of Jordan we visit the ancient Roman cities at Jerash and Umm Qais, with a beautiful view over Lake Galilee. We also pass various biblical sites. Our tour ends close to the border of Israel.

Das antike Reich der Nabatäer hat überall Spuren hinterlassen, die wir nun mit unserem Mercedes Vario 4x4 entdecken. Und in die Unterwasserwelt des roten Meeres tauchen wir natürlich auch ein.

In diesem Video starten wir beim Rabigh Beach am roten Meer, wo wir unter Wasser das farbenfrohe Korallenriff bestaunen. Dann gehts an Medina vorbei, und fahren auf Lavapisten zum Khaybar Vulkangebiet mit dem beeindruckenden weissen Vulkan. Hier fühlen wir uns stark erinnert an unsere Islandreise 2019. Nun steht Offroad auf dem Programm. Auf sandigen Pisten fahren wir offroad zum Split Rock, und sehen tolle Felsformationen wie den Chinese Dragon oder die Sphinx. Am Schluss gehts dann in das Touristenmekka Al Ula. Dort besichtigen wir die Old Town Al Ula, die Gräber von Hegra und den grossen Elefanten.
In this video we start at Rabigh Beach at the Red Sea, where we do a snorqel trip to the colourful coral reef. We pass Medina, and drive on lava tracks to the impressive Khaybar vulcano area with its amazing white vulcano. This heavily reminds us of our Iceland trip in 2019. Now it is time for offroad. On sandy tracks we drive to the Split Rock, passing by special rock formations like the Chinese Dragon and the Sphinx. Finally we drive to the tourist mecca of Al Ula. There we visit the Old Town, the tombs of Hegra and the Elephant Rock.

In diesem Video entdecken wir zuerst die Stadt Najran ganz im Süden von Saudi Arabien, die überraschend viel zu bieten hat. Dann geht es auf die Panoramastrasse durch das Asir Gebirge, die teilweise auf über 2000m Höhe verläuft. Affen sind nun unsere ständigen Begleiter. Wir geniessen die angenehmen Temperaturen in der Bergwelt, sind erstaunt über Nebelschwaden, und machen Abstecher zu den sehenswerten Orten Rijal Almaa, Thee Ain und Ash Shafa, bevor wir dann weiter nach Jeddah fahren. In Jeddah bestaunen wir nicht nur die Holzbalkone, sondern auch die welthöchste Wasserfontäne.
In this video we first explore Najran city in the south of Saudi Arabia, which surprisingly has to offer a lot. Then we drive on the scenic road through the Asir mountains, on an altitude of over 2000m. Monkeys are all along the road. We enjoy the pleasant temperatures in the mountains (we are surprised of the fog) and do trips to the beautiful spots at Rijal Almaa, Thee Ain and Ash Shafa. Then we continue to Jeddah city, where we see not only the beautiful houses with the wooden balconies, but also the worlds highest water fountain.

In diesem Video fahren wir die ersten 1000km von der Grenze Oman durch die Rub al Khali Wüste bis nach Riyadh. Die Stadt ist riesig, und für uns nicht leicht zu erkunden. Wir sind sehr froh, dass uns Fahad bei der Stadtbesichtigung unterstützt. Nördlich von Riyadh fahren wir zuerst zur beeindruckenden Felsklippe Edge of Alammariya und dann zu zwei schönen Lehmdörfern. Ein Höhepunkt ist der Fels Faisal Finger, der uns stark an das Monument Valley in den USA erinnert.
Danach fahren wir die nächsten 1000km durch die Wüste ganz in den Süden bis kurz vor die Stadt Najran an der Grenze zum Jemen.
In this video we drive the first 1000km from the Oman border through the Rub al Khali desert to Riyadh. A huge city not easy to explore. We are very happy about the support by Fahad. North of Riyadh we drive to the impressive cliffs of Edge of Alammariya and to two beautiful mud brick villages. A highlight is the rock Faisal Finger, which reminds us of the Monument Valley in the USA. Now we drive the next 1000km through the desert to the south, close to Najran city at the border to Yemen.

Zuerst zum Schildkrötenstrand, wo wir tatsächlich auch Schildkröten sehen. Dann gehts zur eindrucksvollen Dhau Werft in Sur, bevor die beiden wunderschönen Wadi Tiwi und Wadi Shab auf uns warten. Für eine Delphinbeobachtungstour fahren wir nochmals nach Muscat, und müssen auch in eine Mercedes Werkstatt. Über Nizwa, Bahla und Ibri gehts dann weiter an die Grenze nach Saudi Arabien.
This is the 4th Oman video, before we enter Saudi Arabia. In this video we continue to drive the coast of Oman north. First to the turtle beach, where we luckily see turtles. Then to the dhow factory in Sur. Afterwards we drive to the amazing Wadi Tiwi and Wadi Shab. For a dolphin tour we head to Muscat again, but we also need to go to a Mercedes workshop. Der südliche Teil der Strecke ist spektakulär und erinnert uns an den berühmten Highway Nr. 1 in den USA. Highlights sind traumhafte Wadis wie das Wadi Darbat und das Wadi Shuwaymiya. Wir entdecken den zuckerweissen Sand der Sugar Dunes und halten nach Delphinen Ausschau. Und erkunden natürlich auch die Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt Salalah.
In this video we drive 900km along the coastline. We start south of Salalah and drive up to the fishing village of Khaluf. In Nizwa stehen wir früh auf, um den berühmten Tiermarkt zu erleben. Aber auch die Altstadt von Nizwa hat viel zu bieten. Dann geht es auf die über 900km lange Wüstenstrecke von Nizwa nach Salalah, im tropischen Süden vom Oman. Wir geniessen das angenehme Klima sowie frische Kokosnüsse und Bananen, die hier wachsen.
In this video we drive to Muscat to visit the fish market and the soukh. Then we drive again to the Hajar mountains, to a spectacular canyon at Jebel Akhdar. In Nizwa we get up early in the morning to experience the famous animal market. But also the old town of Nizwa is worth a visit. Then we start the long desert trip of over 900 kilometers from Nizwa to Salalah in the tropical south of Oman. In diesem Video reisen wir in den Oman und dort zuerst zum Hajar Gebirge. Wir machen Station beim Wadi Damm und beim höchsten Berg des Omans, beim Jebel Shams. Die anschliessende Offroadpiste fordert alles von Mensch und Maschine: Sehr steile Passagen, und ab und zu verlieren unsere Reifen den Grip. Es ist für uns die bislang nervenaufreibendste Piste. Von den Bergen gehts dann an die Küste bei Al Sawadi für eine Schnorcheltour bei den Diymaniyat Inseln. Und ein Kamelrennen gibts auch noch.
In this video we cross the border to Oman. Our first stops are Wadi Damm and Jebel Shams (the highest mountain of Oman) in the Hajar mountains. The offroad track over the mountains is our toughest experience so far: Very steep tracks, and sometimes our tires loose its grip. Das war ein echter Höllenritt. Wir haben uns in den Steilkurven wie auf der Rennpiste gefühlt. 5 Stunden waren wir in den Dünen von Al Ain unterwegs. Wahnsinn, was die Toyota FJ Cruiser können.
This is a bonus video to Ep18, showing the best driving scenes of the dune bashing trip. Thanks very much Denis and his friends from the Offroad Club Dubai for the invitation. It was a great ride. We felt like beeing on a race track. We spent 5 hours in the dunes of Al Ain. Crazy, what these Toyota FJ Cruisers can do.

Wir kommen in Kontakt mit Denis vom Offroad Club Dubai, und können bei einem sehr coolen Offroad Wüstentrip mitfahren. Es ist wie auf der Rennstrecke (zur Dünenfahrt mit Denis wird es noch ein Bonusvideo mit mehr Fahrszenen geben). Von Dubai fahren wir nach Al Ain, wo wir den traditionellen Kamelmarkt erleben. Das Jahresende feiern wir in der Wüste, mit Mike & Debra vom Offroad Club Al Ain.
In this video we stay for some days in Dubai to visit the old part at the Creek and Dubai Marina. We get in contact with Denis from the Offroad Club Dubai, who invites us for a cool offroad dune trip into the desert. It is like beeing on a race track (there will be a bonus video about this desert trip with Denis with more driving scenes). From Dubai we drive to Al Ain, where we watch the traditional camel market. We celebrate New Year's Eve in the desert, with Mike & Debra from the Offroad Club Al Ain.

Entlang der Küste des persischen Golfes gehts über die Stadt Dannah zunächst nach Abu Dhabi und dann nach Dubai. Wir sind beeindruckt von der Skyline dieser Mega Städte, den riesigen Malls und der wunderschönen Moschee aus 1001 Nacht. Hier ist wirklich alles touristisch, auch der Fischmarkt. Es gibt kaum Stellplätze in Dubai, also checken wir ausnahmsweise mal in ein Hotel ein.
In this video we drive with our Mercedes Vario 4x4 from Saudi Arabia to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The border crossing is easy. Along the coast of the Persian Gulf we pass Dannah, before we arrive at Abu Dhabi and later at Dubai. We are impressed by the skyline of these mega cities, by the huge malls and the amazing mosque from 1001 nights. In this country everything is touristy, even the fish market. Due to the lack of adequate overnight spots in Dubai we check in into a hotel.

Wir bleiben mehrere Tage beim Judah's Thumb, und leider wird dieser Felsen unserer Drohne zum Verhängnis. Die Stadt Hofuf überrascht uns mit ihrer schönen Innenstadt und dem Soukh. Dort treffen wir Erkan, der uns auf eine coole Offroad Wüstentour in seinem Jeep mitnimmt. Am persischen Golf erholen wir uns ein wenig, bevor wir unsere Reise südwärts in Richtung VAE (Emirate) fortsetzen.
In this video we drive the east coast of Saudi Arabia with our Mercedes Vario 4x4. We stay several days at Judah's Thumb, and at this rock we crash our drone unfortunately. In diesem Video zeigen wir euch den super mühsamen Grenzübertritt vom Iran in den Irak und dann vom Irak nach Kuwait. Die beiden Grenzübertritte haben insgesamt 14 Stunden gedauert. Was für eine Freude, als wir vom kuwaitischen Grenzbeamten mit Tee begrüsst werden. In den folgenden Tage erkunden wir die Mega Stadt Kuwait am persischen Golf mit seiner imposanten Skyline, einer riesigen Moschee, einer noch grösseren Shopping Mall, einem quirligen Fischmarkt und einem geschmackvollen Soukh. Und: Wir können bei einem Kamelrennen zuschauen.
In this video we show you the super annoying border crossings from Iran to Iraq and from Iraq to Kuwait. For both crossings we spent 14 hours in total. What a surprise, when we were invited for tea by the Kuwait border control. In the following days we explore the mega city of Kuwait located at the Persian Gulf, with its impressive skyline, a huge mosque, an even bigger shopping mall, a fascinating fish market and a stylish soukh. And: we can watch a camel race.
