··· ··· ··· ··· MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!! In this youtube video I try to make a gingerbread house for the first time with Ever. It didn't go as planned, but we really didn't have a plan, so it worked out awesome. And we had a lot of fun trying to learn how to make a gingerbread house. Ever as you will see mostly loved trying to eat the icing and the candies that we used for the decorations. We tried singing some different Christmas songs and carols, which I forgot the lyrics to most of them. Jingle Bells was about the only song I could remember lyrics to, but I gave it my best with Walking in a Winter Wonderland, We Wish You A Merry Christmas, Rocking Around The Christmas Tree, I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas, Have a Holly Jolly Christmas, and something about a Hippopotamus, and a Red Nosed Reindeer. And since Ever's favourite Christmas movie is THE GRINCH, we thought it would be fun to have our very own GRINCH in our youtube video helping us make a gingerbread house. Well, actually, he wasn't much help, but Ever was enjoying interacting with THE GRINCH on camera in our Christmas video. And for anyone that doesn't know, Ever has Angelman Syndrome. Angelman Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that's like a cross between autism and cerebral palsy. Well we hope this little Christmas video brightens up your day and puts a smile on your face. ··· ··· ··· ··· WE CAN'T BELIEVE IT! SHE'S 7!!! Our wonderful, amazing daughter, who has Angelman Syndrome, celebrated her 7th Birthday with us at home. Even though we couldn't have a party for her, she had a really fun day. We decorated the house together, decorated cookies, played outside, and even hid her presents around the house for her to find, which she loved! And you will see The Grinch Who Stole Christmas is one of her year round favourite things! With Angelman Syndrome, there are so many regular everyday things our daughter is unable to do, but we like to focus on what SHE CAN DO! And we are so very proud of everything she does and has learned in our seven years together. For anyone who doesn't know, Angelman Syndrome is a rare neurological and genetic disorder which could be described as a cross between Autism and cerebral palsy. It is caused by a genetic mutation of the gene UBE3A located on Chromosome 15 in the brain. It affects 1 in approximately every 12 - 20,000 births, and some of the main symptoms of Angelman Syndrome are: Developmental Delays, Speech Impairment, Movement or Balance Disorders, Frequent Happy/Smiling Demeanor, Jerky Arm Movements, Feeding Problems, and Sleep Problems. In this video titled 'MY AWESOMELY BORING LIFE!!!' my special needs daughter Ever and me (known to her as Daddy) spend the day doing what we normally do. Just hanging out at home and having fun together as BEST FRIENDS. It's not glamorous, it's not too exciting, but it's a good time! Today we played with water, which is one of Ever's favourite things to do. First in her little pool, then taking turns dumping water on our heads, though she only wanted to pour water on my head. After that we had a snack consisting of cheese strings, nacho chips, and yummy oatmeal cookies. Then it was on to opening and closing doors, laughing, giggling, and being silly. There were hugs with a balloon, tickling with a sock, watching some A For Adley and Shonduras youtube videos, and of course, Ever got to play in the bathtub with some foam soap. So we decided to record some video for her on a lazy Sunday at home with no plans, and see what kind of vlog we ended up with. We started at 6:45 am in the morning all dressed up in clothes that she picked out of the closet for us. For anyone who doesn't know, my sweet little daughter has Angelman Syndrome. It's a rare disorder that causes developmental delays and disabilities. It has some symptoms and characteristics like Autism and Cerebral palsy. We hope you enjoy the watching video!
