··· ··· ··· ··· After the Maroons’ epic feat in last year’s Origin series, the team at NED wanted to create a whisky that embodied Queensland’s spirit and energy. And what better way than to use one of Origin’s most celebrated moments to mark their third year as the official whisky partner of the Maroons. NED Australian Whisky, in partnership with Queensland Rugby League and Moore, has produced a unique spirit for this year’s Origin series, aging a specially-selected premium barrel for more than 1000 hours to Moore’s 1995 “Queenslander” chant in a purpose-build container at the NED Whisky barrel house. The sound waves of Moore’s chant created kinetic energy in the barrel that vibrated through the whisky, enhancing maturation, creating a richer, bolder spirit. THE STORY In an act of bravery, Ned Kelly saved a boy from drowning and was awarded a green sash. He wore this sash as a symbol of courage wearing it for the final time at his last stand in 1880. THE WHISKY We committed to experimentation to create our NED Green Sash Whisky. Selecting premium aged barrels of NED, we harvest them over oak for additional character, resulting in flavours of caramel, vanilla and dark chocolate with a long finish of sweet oak and orange, making NED Green Sash a truly extraordinary whisky. THE SERVE Bottled at 44% ABV Green Sash is designed to be enjoyed neat, but will also take your cocktails to the next level. Our Head Distiller recommends a classic Old Fashioned and refreshing-tasting Whisky Highball. TASTING NOTES Aroma: Oak, caramel, vanilla with hints of almond. ··· ··· ··· ··· An extremely limited release of NED Whisky drawn from a single barrel which had been seasoned with Australian Agave Anejo spirit. This whisky is the result of our union with Australian Agave Project. Our appetite for innovation and excellence delivered an exquisite Australian Agave Anejo spirit aged for 20 months in a specially-chosen NED barrel. This barrel, layered with the sweetness of cooked agave and whisky’s dark chocolate, vanilla and orange peel, was replenished with NED Whisky and aged to create a refined single barrel release, rarely seen anywhere in the world. This whisky has the hallmarks of classic agave merged with the warmth and smoothness of whisky. Sweet with a backbone of agave, the whisky’s mellowness is balanced by a touch of spice and citrus to deliver an elegant finish with lingering agave character. With less than 525 bottles of our Single Barrel Agave Finish, this is one of our smallest releases of whisky to date. Each bottle is individually numbered. TASTING NOTES: Aroma: Classic agave with caramel and soft oak. Warm and smooth whisky with plenty of agave spice and citrus. Taste: Sweet mellow whisky, agave structure and a nicely balanced touch of heat at the end. Finish: Elegant with lingering agave character. 500ml | 44% This is the third release in a series of experimental barrel finishes – a new frontier for NED. There will be four releases in the series, each released during 2022 when the distillers’ believe the whisky to be at optimum maturity.

Using a recording of David Reynolds and reigning Bathurst champion Lee Holdsworth’s respective race lap from the 2021 Bathurst 1000 we have sound aged reserve grade NED Australian Whisky. The ageing process of whisky can be sped up using ultrasonic waves – in this case the sound of engines vibrating through barrels of whisky. Our reserve grade NED Whisky barrels were matured at our barrel house in Melbourne inside our sensory container. We filled it with a carefully selected barrel of our premium NED Whisky that was rich and bold in caramel and vanilla, with a soft finish and mellow profile to help balance out any tannins. This whisky captures the glorious fruit and weight of Victorian Shiraz and we believe this to be our smoothest and richest NED Whisky released to date. Aroma: Vibrant fruit, raspberry and caramel. This whisky is a truly unique drop, balancing the structure of NED and the sweetness from the XO Cognac cask. Aroma: Fragrant dried fruit, raisins and sultanas, caramel. Taste: Sweet ripe fruit, notes of grapes and raisins, fine oak, dried spice. Our Australian Agave Project used a NED second fill American oak barrel to age their foundation harvest for 20 months to create an exceptional Anejo spirit. After this was harvested, we re-filled this barrel with a NED reserve grade whisky that had strong flavours of extra vanilla and oak. Our NED Agave Spirit finish is pulling through beautiful roasted agave flavours and citrus notes. Aroma: Fresh citrus, complex floral notes and toffee. Taste: A balance of sweet and citrus from the agave, with fine oak and spice. ··· ··· ··· ··· Finish 04: Cherry Gin Our distillers estimate this whisky will be ready for shipment in October 2022. Our friends at Anther Gin used a NED second fill American oak barrel to age their Cherry Gin. After this was harvested, we selected a NED reserve whisky that had a structure of savoury oak and spice to re-fill this barrel, this was to ensure the whisky stands up to the sweetness of the cherries. This whisky is still in maturation, our distillers are waiting for it to hit the sweet spot between complex oak and sweet cherry aromatics. At present, this whisky is tasting of mellow oak, wood sweetness and hints of juniper and citrus. Aroma: Complex whisky and oak with cherries and juniper. Taste: Starting with cherries and juniper and moving into spicy botanicals and oak.
